We welcome Boys of all faiths, and are active contributors to our local community.
We have raised funds to install a Public Access Defibrillator in Milngavie town centre, in a heated weatherproof cabinet, on the big white wall of Marks and Spencer facing the playpark.
We have arranged a "launch" event to take place Saturday 27th August at 3pm. There will be demonstrations of how the equipment operates outside (weather permitting) and inside the Fraser Centre so that everyone can learn how easy it can be to save a life. Thank you again for all of your support.
We are connected to six different churches throughout Milngavie;
St Lukes Church, Cairns Church, The United Free Church, Allander Evangelical Church, St Pauls Church and St Andrews Episcopalian.
Or just turn up any Monday or Friday evening!
Anchor Boys (P2-P3) start at 6PM on a Monday
Junior Section (P4-P6) start at 7PM on a Monday
Company Section (P7+) start at 7.30PM on a Friday
That the Parliament commends the continued hard work of the 1st/2nd Milngavie Boys' Brigade Anchor Boys section; congratulates the 20 boys, who are aged six and seven, on their continued support and fundraising for the Church of Scotland’s World Mission Fund; understands that the section has been supporting the fund for the last six years and has been its highest fundraisers for five years in succession; notes that, to recognise, the members were presented with a trophy in November 2015 by the then Moderator of the Church of Scotland; understands that the boys have so far raised £1,400.50 for the 2016 appeal, Kit for Kenya, which aims to both provide affordable school uniforms for boys in Kenya and sewing machines for boys in that country to learn about important life skills in textiles; commends all of the boys and staff, and everyone else, who have supported and sponsored the appeal, and looks forward to further noble and kind work by the section.
